Guys, about the Manchester tournament ......I
d like to go. Those who are gonna go by car: do you have space for me and my bike? Or when will you know?! Otherwise guess I should buy the train tickets as it
s gonna be more expensive towards the time.... -
• #5730
not sure whether i should be taking up a car space ( if there is one ) if im not intending to play .. rather spectate. So think ill leave it and maybe catch a train last minute if i feel like it, x

I'm going to decide closer to the day, so if it fills up, I won't be able to go. If anyone else is happy taking that risk then they can come in my car - I can take two passengers and their bikes.
-
• #5732
is it a one or two day tourney?
-
• #5733
Just the one day, depending on the number of players/teams it should run from about 10-7 or there abouts.

LET THERE BE LIGHT (or not)
I phoned Vicky at Hall Green District Office and she said that the company who was supposed to come out has gone awol. They never turned up on Thursday and their phone has been engaged ever since. She seemed a bit like I've been with her and said that she's not leaving it alone for a second and she's going to escalate it so she can get answers.
I've begun to feel personally responsible for these lights so I can only apologise!

Ha! not your fault.
Blame the Council and the broader system which makes it relatively attractive to build these facilities (to win votes, pats on the back, promotions or press coverage) but never thinks how they will be maintained...
There are loads of decrepit MUGAs all over the place, it's crazy.

I'm definatley gonna go - can take at least 1 in car and possibly stretch to two if needed and I can borrow Neils rack/and fits car.
Don't rely on the list above you need to register via Manchester google doc https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1yxW...0kOew/viewform
Viki if you're 100% you can have a seat in car.
I'm also gonna report back on lights at that other court on Brunswick road tonight. As an alternative - what would peoples thoughts be for paying £30 between us for 2 hours at the Joseph Chamberlain outside court?

Ignore my link and us the one at top of thread.

I'd be more than happy to pay, but I'd prefer it if we could do fast games/slow games, or teams games or something like that so that it is a bit more focussed rather than just the usual throw-ins.

If the other court doesn't have lights I'd be up for paying for the time being, between us that's not too much.

I'm happy to pay as long as we have at least six people and as Dan says if we can have it a bit more structured to make best use of the time.

me three

Result! Checked the courts on Brunswick Rd/Stoney Lane - they have 6 lights which were on from at least 7:30 - 9:45. No kids only a couple of Police officers. There are a few holes but I'm sure it will do for the time being.
