Watch the first five minutes, and enjoy the cinematography of him walking through the desert. They left the film out in the hot Californian sun to cook it a little, gives it a fantastic saturated feel. Then turn it off, quick.

Seen filth. Good show, didn't find last bit that convincing aside from that nitpicking, go see it.
Moonrise Kingdom on DVD very nice watch even if just for the design/camerawork.

Watch Highlander instead, it's got a Frenchman doing a Scottish accent and a Scot doing an Egyptian/Spanish accent. Neither succeed.

Heh, so true. I'm Dutch but I can't do a Dutch accent on purpose. Goldmember on the other hand...

If I watch 'Terminator: Salvation' on film 4, will I:
a) Have the bestest Sunday night possible
or
b) Regret every second? If you've only seen the third film you'll think a)
If you've seen the first and second it's a b)

The Way We Are... What a strange film... Got very weird, very quickly, in the last reel...
Enjoyed it, Mrs TS was watching through her fingers by the end...

Chernobyl Diaries - pretty much a guff hills have eyes, Mrs CP was scared but that really doesn't count for much, 'scare' by numbers at best. Although the bear was an amusing surprise
Mothers Day - meh was ok a few grim bits in it but really didn't scare or hook me in in any way, obvious ending
Woman in Black - pretty damned atmospheric, got me a little tense in places, saw the ending a miles off but I guess that's cause it's quite an old story that's been told a few times. Tense stuff

Going to see it on Tuesday. Really excited.

I saw La Grande Belleza (The Great Beauty) last week. It was strange, pretentious, atmospheric, and quite long, but one of the most beautiful and captivating films I've ever seen. Still not really sure what happened in some of it, and I'm not sure I understand it. But I'd watch it again tonight if I could. Good soundtrack too.

Think this is the best place to ask.
Do anyone have any recommendation for a decent Blu-ray/DVD player with wifi for iPlayer access? I currently have the cheap Samsung which is a great little player but only have an ethernet cable access (no usb) and it's nowhere near any ethernet without resorting to running several meters of cable through two rooms.
Preferably on a budget, the Samsung cost me £50 (BD-F5100).
Secondly, is it worth getting the old movie like Back to the Future that's now in Blu-ray format or is the difference in quality is not enough?

After Earth
In spite of my preconceived misgivings, the film was, in fact, quite utterly appalling.
The plot: Full to the brim with internal inconsistencies, holes, and downright utter fucking dumbness.
There is only so far that you can suspend your disbelief, before you start shouting at the screen, asking "What the fuck?"
The acting: Christ on a fucking brick.
Wicky-wa-wa-Will Smith has never been the greatest thesp' in the world, but this was one of his low points. Scowling ≠ the answer to "how does a person look when they have no fear".
Smith Jr. No redeeming features whatsoever. Stultifyingliy wooden for the most part, with brief bouts of shouty ham. Even the bits where he is passed out are poorly executed. Well done, son - you fail to act doing nothing even when you are doing nothing.
Gopping.

Hangover 3. Literaly had nothing. Worst film I have seen in ages and I am quite a fan of shit films.
The Intouchables. Amazing film.

So they're showing the 1998 remake of Psycho tonight... which for various reasons, I'm sort of forced to watch...
Help me out here guys. The original being one of my favourite movies of all time, please explain to me what exactly demanded this remake; where did Hitchcock, crew and cast fuck up?

So ive seen these recently Blue Jasmine - I think kate Blanchett acted brilliantly although I hated her character and that made me hate the film. Not really surprised at this since im not woody allens biggest fan and find most of his stuff tedious and brutally boring!
Thor 2 - It was alright, totally popcorn film but I expected nothing more. Some surprisingly funny scenes in it too!
Captain Phillips - Great story, nicely done but tom hanks character again annoyed me when he go into the lifeboat with the pirates, by the end I just couldnt wait for it to finish.
Filth - Saw it again and as I think i enjoyed it even more 2nd time around, some really funny bits in it.
Really cant wait for Gravity, The counsellor, Don Jon, In fea, Old boy and american hustle. Hopefully be a few jems in that list!

Saw The Selfish Giant last night.
Really well shot and acted, but really bleak. I was hoping it wouldn't be too much like Tyrannosaur, and while they're pretty different films, they left me feeling the same. I'd recommend them as films, but I'm not sure I could recommend the experience of going to see them.

It's an exact scene for scene reconstruction. Not seen it myself, but always seemed utterly pointless. I think it's by Abel Ferrara, but I can't be arsed checking.

In a similar vein.
Hitchcock.
Loved it.
Hopkins & Mirren made this one of my best films of the year.
You're welcome
