As a local i can tell you that their are not that many lanes but fundamentally they are the main routes into the city. Being only one side next to the Mersey everything it funnelled to bus lanes do have a valuable function, If you live in the north of the city Walton or West Derby your safe routes will become very compromised. Its a wrong decision when other cities are adding lanes and bus/tram routes.
Finally can i remind you all of the councils failure in not getting trams back.
