• Considering your usual aversion to drops and apparently endless supply of North Road bars It may be worth considering DIY - I know you have some good craft skills, you could fill a pair of North Roads with sand, whack the endplugs in, make some chuck jaws and a bending stick (e.g. a 2' length of 2"x2" with a suitably placed hole to give leverage and bishboshbash the world of handlebar shapes is your (slightly risky) oyster.

    i have considered doing this for quite a while.....but i cant find any how-to guides...

    I'd imagine you're probably familiar with both of these stems which would be about right in terms of period correctness...

    two fantastic stems, i think it will hard to find a curly lugged stem like your dads....and if i did find one, it may end up costing me a arm and a leg.... maybe two legs.
