But what about the effects of differentiating cycling further? I meant segregation not in the literal sense, but in the figurative sense of making it so different from other modes of road transport.

Not really sure, i could only speculate, what is your view?......and i am not sure it is a major issue if more poeple use bikes.

People hate bikes and cyclisits in the UK in a way they don't in many cycling friendly cities. Why is this? Because it it a viable mode of transport in the rest of europe? Most people own and use a bike because of safe infra?
