I think I like the nickel plating, is this wrong? I seriously don't understand why anyone would copperplate anything though. Its almost as bad as gold.
Regarding the saddle, doesn't bother me, I ride an unbranded bit of crap from an off the peg bike because it happened to be comfortable.
