  • would it be worth starting a mielec gallery thread? people could post their mielecs, maybe frame geos, RAL colours, wait time etc. it would be useful for people who are thinking about ordering one

  • pink mielec with spinergy was painted by the owner himself

    There already is one.

  • Yeah, I rattlecanned it fluoro pink, it was raw previously, this is it's previous state

yehr, but some specs would be nice. what Neddos wrote. geos, costs, colors (RAL) etc.

  • I agree... but surely we don't need a second Mielec thread for that.

  • that's true!

  • FrameMielec, a heap of chinese carbon and Omniums.

  • Hi guys, is there anyone who bought the standard frame, without any customization ?

How does it look like ?

    Cheers :)

  • me too, nigh on identical to emyr's actually, i will be selling soon too, size medium and £80 collected in berkshire if you're interested bob?

  • Hi Siribike, I would be surely interested but... I live in Italy.

  • ah, postage would be a bit expensive then! i would be happy to do it but the price would end up coming closer to a new one and therefore not worth it for you :)

  • Ah was thinking of that too!

Someone had a polished one posted here a few months back.

is this the one? cannondale copies would be good

  • yep thats the dale copy and it looks pretty awesome also thinking about to get a cannondale track copy from mielec but have to figure out how to do it

  • Yeah do you just ask for a copy of (insert bike)? Anyone ordered one for a 1" fork?

  • a quick google search produced this geometry chart and yeah i assume you just send that to the guy and (fingers crossed) he'll follow it

  • you know, Pelizzoli publishes leggenda's geo, so you can just copy it and send to Mielec. Than ask about 1" headtube, polished welds and wait for your super cool frame ;)

    Edit: ^ he was first...

  • a quick google search produced this geometry chart and yeah i assume you just send that to the guy and (fingers crossed) he'll follow it

There are a lot of useful measurements in that chart but I think they'd have to make a few assumptions to derive a complete geometry from the values given.

I'll see what I can work out.

  • These numbers don't make sense.I used the 54 size because it has parallel seat and head tubes.

    BBDrop = ((rake+trail)*tan(headangle)) - BBheight = 45.5mm

    Take a bit of pythagoras:

    Wheelbase = frontcentre + squareroot{chainstaylength^2 - BBdrop^2}

Because the head and seat tubes are parallel on this size, front centre should equal rake + ETT

I'm getting Wheelbase = 955.6mm, 13.5mm longer than what's listed in the table.

  • I'm not the best at maths, but Pythagorean theorem only works with right angle triangles and triangle you're making there probably isn't a perfect right angle to that's where your measurement is out.

I could be spouting absolute shit though.

  • Tyrrell is right. Try a Sine/Cosine calculator.

  • So what you say is i could simply take this and send it to Robert with all
the informations like size, color, smooth welds and 1" headtube and
this should be enough for him to build the frame?

    (taken from the pelizzoli website)

  • ^it might be but the risk is much higher than say if you made it on bikecad.

looking at that pelizolli one again though it misses important things like headtube angle, fork rake, fork length and actual top tube, if i was you i'd put the numbers from the actual cannondale one in neddo's post into bike cad so robert can get a visual and numerical idea of what you want.

actually, what size would you need? and i might have some time to do it today if you're not too confident with bikecad

  • i knew cannondale did a better geometry chart than the one above:
    /attachments/74961

you can now work out the length of the headtube because it tells you the angle of the top tube, just add about 1cm on the top of it.

    and possible build idea
    /attachments/74960

also tubing wise you'll need to as for their new chainstays and seatstays (you have to ask for these otherwise they give you the old, non-tapered ones), a 31.8mm seat tube, 35mm top tube, and oval down tube
