So...
Iroman distance in August 2014.
Here's a rough overview of my training plan:
Swim:
distance covered, and working on timing/ effort levels by end of November. I haven't swum properly in like 5 months (maybe more), the idea is to make it a routine distance so that it doesn't really bother me.
Running wise: 1/2 marathon by end of the year, comfortable and fast.
Build early on in 2014 to marathon, taper off a bit around some exams, rebuild.
Cycling wise:
High intensity over winter, lots of indoor sessions, some CX, very few long rides (if any).
Maybe do a 1/2 iron at the beginning of summer just to play with distances, transitions and the such-like.
Any advice/ sample training programs (I've got a fairly busy life for the next 7months so going on maximal effectiveness training rather than lots of long hours) would be great!
Right now, I feel like an idiot for signing up and my motivation levels are at an all-time low. But that feeling with me is usually transient, and soon I'll be well into it.
I might blog about it, just to force me to properly train.
