I know there's people who think it's stupid to worry about weight on a pomp but it's my main bike. I do about 80 miles a week on it
^This, for me. I do 15 miles a day at least on mine.
Ha! See that green peice of shit I posted, I used to do 15 miles each way on that (150milee a week for Chris, only talking of commuting, not including polo or goin out if my way for polo)... Nothing light, everything on there is for strength and or cheapness.

And at the other end of the versatility spectrum I did a sportive on mine.

Yeah... those overshoes are in the bin now

Wouldn't mind a pomp as a roadie, looks smart

Built this, but need to accept that it's just too small. As pictured, I still need to raise the saddle maybe 2".

Are you running an 8 or 11 speed on that?
I might sell my versa-8 drop bar levers, which I was using on my pompetamine. We've got a kid now, the pompetamine is running with a chair seat on the back, so we are using riser bars and the thumb shifter. Dont think I'll be going back to the drops any time soon, like the next ten years, so it might be better if someone else got use of them... interested?

Are they custom decals, or just a new design? I like the font, and the styling in general.

just lovely pompino (not mine):
here's the current setup (it's mine):

^^^ 8-speed. Like I say, the bike really is too small for me, so I'll probably end up splitting it and selling off the parts sooner or later, so not really looking to spend any more on it.
^^ Decals were customs I had Roboto from the forum knock up for me. Highly recommended.

Looks great! Please can you link me to that bar tape?

No worries. Anyone else here interested?
I was chatting to my gf about it last night. She warned me that I've sold off parts before and then a year later wish I hadnt...

What mudguards are those?

I've got a nature boy fork on my pompino (picked it up second hand on eBay for about £40) but I certainly wouldn't pay new money for one - not lighter or better handling than the stock fork, even though it does look better. If I was buying new forks I'd go carbon.
How is the frame doing with just a clear-coat (or is it raw/oiled)?

I had midges for a bit, and felt like I was doing a passable impression of superman in flight on my way to work. Much happier with road drops (for road use)
I love my Midges, have them both my bikes. Feeling like Superman helps some mornings for sure.

What mudguards are those?
VO hammered, sprayed satin black. Don't really give adequate clearance for 35c tyres at the back. It's just, just okay at the minute, but no good for mud/snow on the tyres. The litle bobble/spike things on the tyres whirr against the guard as it is.

Finished. Might have to play around with gearing, 39x17 (62'') was a little hard in places.

OK... worst bit is top and bottom of the HT where pressing the headset cups back in cracked the clear coat. A few other spots of rust here and there but nothing significant. The HT is bad enough to need a respray once winter is over though

What does a 26" wheel look like in the back of a Pomp'?

Like a funny looking mtb?
^This, for me. I do 15 miles a day at least on mine.
Lightweight(ish) cranks/BB and fork were my main priorities.
I totally get the parts-bin beater builds (if you can knock together a whole new bike from stuff you've got in the shed, go for it) but I had to strip a fairly high-spec MTB to build my Pomp and I already appreciated what nice parts can do for a well-designed frame.
The super-low price of the Pomp frame leaves more dough for nice parts - the tubing might not be high-end but I think the overall design is great, and worthy of really good components.
