Afternoon, I'm currently running Shimano cranks, and just got some nice SRAM red cranks (GXP) in the post along with an italian threaded ceramic GXP bb.
So, here's my question, can I hack together a decent bb without having to buy a new GXP one? It'll save me £24 I currently shouldn't be spending.
I'm thinking of partnering the nds GXP cup with the driveside Shimano compatible bb cup. Why? Well, Shimano cranks are apparently 24mm on both sides, while SRAM GXP is 22mm on the nds and 24mm on the ds.
Then there's the italian threaded bb, I think the threads on the nds for both english and italian are the same, but the threads are opposite between the 2 on the ds. Am I right?
I'm just wondering if all this is correct/viable.
