One scoop of beans with the scoop that comes with the aeropress is pretty much right - verified by a friend who has scales - life is to short to be dicking around with scales IMHO.
But with scales you can weigh the amount of water as well - like HB says, need to be constant.
Has anyone dome any comparisons or Brita vs bottled? Been reading up a bit over the weekend, and it seems that whole Brita softens the water (slowing limescale build up) it doesn't significantly effect the ppm, which has a bigger effect on extraction? London tap water is around 400ppm I think, whereas somewhere in the region of 100ppm seems to be good for getting the best from the coffee (hence bottled water?)
tldr; can anyone taste the difference between Brita vs bottled water.
I'm not sure I can taste the difference - but you're probably right. I found my water (N5) was very hard and so a Brita was an instant improvement. I just couldn't justify using bottled water, when I have access to guilt free tap water.
