Top tube CTC? Is seat tube measurement CTT or CTC?
Assume 120mm at the rear and English BB.
Drilled for rear brake?
-
• #6
Bristol, but driving to Birmingham and Eastbourne next week.
Top tube 22" CTC, seat tube 22 1/2 CTT. 120 rear, I'm guessing English BB but I haven't taken it out as it spins lovely. It is drilled for a rear brake, there is some damage there where someone crushed the brake stay but a brake would hide it. The paint has some chips there was a mudguard eye missing but I had Argos put one back on and I touched up the paint.... -

Seat post?.....27.2mm?....27.0mm?.....26.8mm?.....something else?

• #8
do you knw what the frame size is as in 50cm
-
• #9
27.2" seat post.
57.12 cm CTT seat tube.... -
• #10
im confused, i mean - say if you were buying a frame/bike off a website and it says frame size 50cm what is it in those measurements
-
• #11
How is it confusing, it's 57 cm CTT seat tube...?
-
• #13
thank you for the help but im afraid its a little to big :)
-
• #14
1inch ('') =2.54 cm
So TT=55.88 cm
I am interested....what is the stand over height?
120mm rear width?
Any chance of a pic of the damaged bit?
Condition of the headset? Make of nearest if known?
-

Stand over height 33", which is why I'm selling it. Too tall for me. I just got back from riding it, it's pretty light even with quite chunky wheels and tyres......
-
• #16
Yep, 120 rear. I greased the headset, it was quite notchy, but now seems fine. Tange (?) headset and I think it's a nice Mafac BB. I'll do a pic later....
-
• #17
How tall are you?
33''=83.82cm.....which might be too big for me....off to check!
As it stands....too big for me....but is the 33" due to mega chunky tyres....any idea what the stand over height would be with 23/25 mm tyres?.....I think I am clutching at straws here!
-
• #18
5' 7" with a 30" inside leg, it's at least an inch too tall for me. They are 27" X 1 1/4 tyres...
-
• #19
So not 700c tyres?
-
• #20
The frame should have 700c wheels but I had the 27" wheels and was aiming for a Path look, low geared, mudguards, etc....
-
• #21
I am 5' 8"....my road bike has a stand over height of 78cm......and could take About 3 or 4 cm.....but over 5 would be too much.....though with 27" wheels and chunky tyres.....the stand over height might....just be exaggerated....do you have any 700c wheels with skinny tyres?
-
• #22
I think it's going to be too tall for you......
-
• #23
Yes...pity....as I think you....selling something good...igf 27.2mm......then 531 db......so good luck with the sale....I'll bump the thread......as needed!......good price too!
-

27 1/4 wheels don't make a hell of a lot of difference. And I don't see why everybody is struggling to get a grip with the size: it's 57cm, and if that doesn't give you any indication then do a little reserach. With the shortness of that stem, I reckon we're talking somewhere between 5 foot 9 and just over six foot.
