A sexy machine with all panto parts.....This weekend I picked up something special in Ulestraten near Maastricht (i planned to go to a retroride in the neighbourhood so i picked this one up). I was planning to use this bike for a super record conversion as a donor bike for my Nuovo Record Presto.. On the pictures of the advert I noticed a Gazelle pantograph front chain ring and a first generation sr rear mech. I bid 100. These guys were completely overwhelmed by the reactions from markplaats bidders. They were so polite to tell me that concerning my bid they had some problems with our little agreement since some people were already bidding vast more amounts for this bike. So I told them I understood and offered them 200 and they were so kind to agree and discontinue their classified.
Size is 54. Frame number 32* indicates 1980. The rear derraileur is actually a patent 76 Super record. This bike was sold by a former amateur cyclist tour de France mechanic the 50-60s Jan Willemsen from Nuth. I do not know just what I'll do with it. Insanely beautiful bike. Haven’t seen many Gazelle bikes with that many pantographs. Maybe I'll keep this bike for the group and wait for a proper sized period corect AA or 753 frame. Or maybe I'll swap with a Gazelle Champion Mondial collector for a SR group + some extras.
Check my flickr stream for further details. It's worth it;-) http://www.flickr.com/photos/dutchbiker/sets/72157636044860025/

That is a nice bike!
I thought I bought a Chinetti online (marktplaats). But when I got it today, I noticed there was Gazelle and number 3192030 on the bb. So a 1977?
Could anybody tell me if it is a real track bike, or a transformed one because of the rear brake bridge. Poor paint and chinetti is a sticker

Definately not a track frame (bridges, BB shell, bottle holder bosses).
This is a converted A, maybe an early AB.
Track frames from Gazelle always have cast BB-shells.
Nobody is so foolish to replace that. -

Observant friends of the gazelle thread - can anyone point me in the direction of the blue and black (maybe purple) barber poled Mercian(?) in the for sales threads over the last couple of weeks... It was a full build and description said original owner didnt want to ride because it was pristine - Can't find it and considering a similar colourway for a project(my first non gazelle) many and much thanks in advance and sorry to dirty this thread with off topic queries... It will not happen again! Matt
