N1 City Road Basin teen gang harassing cyclists

Hi all

Has anyone else been harassed by a group of teens on the canal towpath along City Road Basin?

They're on bikes and stop you going past, swearing, being intimidating. I've been stopped 2 nights in a row.

Would be useful to know if anyone else has encountered them and/or done anything about it.

I used to live in Hoxton in the 90s and used to go canoeing along the Regent's canal down that way - the little scrotes from the estate used to lob stuff at us (usually aiming for the head) -- sad to see nothing much has changed...........

Yeah, 3 male teens circling me on bikes and another 10 kids for back up...though it crossed my mind riding into them wasn't really an option...

hoxton is much changed now you have all the hipsters lobing stuff into canal after all nighters.lol

Used to walk down the canal to start my shifts all the time. Got the odd unexpected biff from a nobend getting a backie. Luckily a diet of shit food has rendered them incapable of throwing a decent punch..

I hear of people getting mugged on the canal near Mile End (not too far from City Road) quite frequently, as the climbing wall I go to is the first place the victims often go for help.

A friend was cycling down the canal at last night when five youths jumped out and tried to wrest his bike from him. He ended up in the canal with his bike, they ran off after a bit of a shouting match.

Best to avoid the canal at night time really.
