Quella bikes?

  • Think there was another thread on quellas a few months back but didn't get a clear answer. They're a new company so i can't find a decent review of them. Any good? Worth buying?
Im either going for a quella or a fuji declaration i think, what do you guys think?

  • They both look quite shitty

  • I quite like the look of both if im honest, but im only a student so can't afford too much.

  • The thing about all these 'pseudo custom' bicycle sellers is your paying for the colour scheme and not the performance. I would quite fancy a FrenoRosso Rust FR though.

They are beautiful. What make of bike would you suggest?

  • The one that fits you and is just outside your budget.

  • Aren't they just rebadged Unipack/Create's?

    Either way, look awful.

    When did Fuji become shit?

  • I would actually find it hard to make a decent bike for £329. I guess I am getting into the realms of 'Best off the Peg Fixie.' I guess most people on the forum buy and sell over time to design something themselves from quality components.

Check the forum classifieds, check eBay finds, buy low, sell the bits you don't need, get better bits.

Getting pricier but Condor have a good reputation.

  • i have a budget of about 400.

  • The £500 bike will be ideal, then!

Seriously, watch the classifieds on here like a hawk, £400 will get something very nice second hand and it will be a far superior machine.

the problem is im not too good on my knowledge of fixies bikes, currently own just a geared road bike so i guess thats why.

Just ask on here. They're all fixie skidders. Read the comments and go from there.

here you go: Langster Can't go wrong with a Langster. You can have a read about them here: Langster thread

  • In general most people on here are pretty honest and decent, they tend not to rip you off for old crap. If they do, the community as a whole will give them a hard time before anyone tries to buy!

Just to give you an idea, there is a Specialized Langster 2012 on the first page of classifieds for £370, I've only ever heard good things about them. Don't know how great a deal this is, but I'm sure others will help......

  • Bugger, beaten to it, well done Chak! ........ see what I mean?

  • Sold a Bianchi Pista for £300 once.

I think the Tokyo Fixed Dart frame is £240. Could build one of those on a budget for less than £500 (possibly)

  • All good ideas but in relation to the original auestion, would you guys recommend the fuji declaration or a quella if it was a choice between them?

Well, the fuji. Just because something is steel doesn't mean all steel is the same. As far as I can see, both are Cro-mo, so all good there. The quella is overpriced for what it is. Unknown parts by a company taking a chance on the massive influx of the "fixie" scene. If I had to go to Evans and buy something off the peg, it'd be this: Fuji Track Classic

    Neither

Buy something second hand off here.

Almost everything that crops up in the classifieds here is good stuff. As in quality, pedigree or downright awesome. I repeat. Almost. When crappy stuff does crop up. It almost always gets slated/or noticed. So you can't really go wrong. Even if the price is off, people will give a heads up. Just keep on a lookout.

    thanks a lot man

  • Get the yellow tyres off the Fuji Track Classic and swap for a Panaracer Pasela Gumwall and you have a beautiful looking bicycle.
