2013-10-09 - Rider Down, Cable Street / Cannon Street Road (CS3)

Ambulance in attendance and police taking witness details at possible cycle incident on junction of Cable St CS3 and Cannon St Rd about half nine this morning.

Bike leaning against fence looking a bit bent out of shape but not horrific and not left in road. Couldn't see a rider - I assume they were in the ambulance. I won't post bike details on here as I don't want to unnecessarily spook anyone but it looked quite 'on here' so if anyone's AWOL this morning pm me their bike details and I'll let you know if it looks like them.

Whoever it is, I hope they're ok. Spooked me more than the guy who sailed past it all by RLJing.

I live on Cable St. I've seen a few accidents on that CS. Fingers crossed the rider's ok.

I walked past this before the emergency services had arrived. There were a few people gathered tending to the rider. Quite a bit of blood. It didn't look good.

Hope this rider is okay.

Was a car involved? I couldn't tell. Don't want speculation just wondering whether you have a bit more info?

Yeah also saw this bike propped and a lone police car. Didn't see any other vehicle which could have been involved.

I went by after the ambulance went by and spoke with the police woman waiting for the bike to be collected, she said the crash happened on the road, possibly on Cannon St road before the cycle lane crossing.
Hope the rider is ok.

When I went past the rider was on the ground immediately in front of a white BMW - if a car was involved, it looked like that was it.

Also, this was on Cannon Street Rd just past the pedestrian crossing rather than on the junction itself.
