  • Wilshere is not doing himself any favours this week. He's waded into the Zanujaj debate with a statement that's been interpreted as the old "if a dog's born in a barn that doesn't make it a horse" argument.

    I wonder what he makes of Berahino and Fabrice Muamba, both of whom have played for the U-21s?

    Also, it's bad news for Scotland and Northern Ireland if he gets his way - it would bring an end to people playing for nations their grandparents once said they'd visited.

    Muamba was raised here from a young age, Zanujaj has only been here two years. There's a distinct difference.

    Also, and this seems to been have overlooked in this debate, the home nation FAs have an agreement that they won't select players who qualify through the residency route.
