hi tecora headsets were made in germany if i remember rightly!
i bought one in 98 for around £120's and was of very good quality its still going strong now having only once replaced 1 half of the bearings since new,
santa cruz bicycles used to use them (had it originally on my old santa cruz chamelian) so u have yourself a good headset fella!
threads are never too old- I just bought a colnago frame and it came with a tecora E headset. It has roller bearings (perhaps needle-I'm not sure). Are these the kinds of bearings you changed? I'm used to old campy ball bearings. I might keep the headset since it's supposedly only 98 grams if I can change out the roller/needle bearings if need be.
