  • Back to the real question: How many times a year do we want access to the London velodrome?

The 'drome is £120 per hour to book, and you might imagine a 4 hour afternoon session rounding out at £500 with other minor costs. If we had 50 people per session paying £10 then it's possible, and any profits would roll into the club which would re-invest it in the club or a future event.

So how frequently do we want to run such sessions and what is the demand?

    Monthly sessions?
    Quarterly sessions?
    Annual sessions?

I personally think quarterly would get the biggest bang for buck, ensuring that we get the numbers and that it feels like an event that calcifies interest in riding the velodrome and becomes a decent signal to others interested. It would also allow organisers to identify sponsors for whom support at this frequency is possible.

Monthly I think might struggle for numbers after a while, and this frequency would be really well covered by other clubs who likely want to run a frequent fixture. We'd be serving our springboard/gateway function well by not treading too much on their toes.

Annual I think would be too seldom for most of us.

    Other suggestions?
