Looks nicely built, but the seller states the SN is 2570, which doesn't tie-in with what else I've read in this thread.
The Reynolds decal is "renovated"...

Yes. I couldn't find any symbols on frame. Campagnolo dropouts was my guess too, but i'm not so good at recognizing bicycle frame parts so...
I'm not so sure about Bob Jackson. Dropout welds look a little bit different. As much as I looked at Bob Jackson frames I couldn't find any with seat stay ends like this.
As I said i'm not so good at bicycle parts yet so I could be wrong, that's why i'm asking you guys.

@scilly
a mystery... as you say 90's would not have been 4-digit serial#
They run a basic serial system. 4854 was built in 1964 for starters, so 2570 must have been way before that, which rules out that fork crown for a start.Assuming the sellers not lying/misinformed there's another possibility.
My old Shorter was resprayed by Bob Jackson and they gave it a rennovation number which they also stamped on the BB.
If you're properly interested you could ask the seller to whip out the forks and check the serial # on the steerer. If it's much higher it could be (as the seller suggests) a 90's BJ... 2570 is its rennovation number and elsewhere on the BB is the original serial#. (either that or it just has a new set of forks) -

Noticed the funky bar-end shifters mounted close to the stem on this beast and wondering if anyone knows what the mount/handlebar-clamp is, something off the shelf or custom?

^ Nope nothing otp or clever, just a jubilee clip and a bit of sheet aluminium.

Cheers Rik; interesting gen. for future reference.
I'm building Winter trainers for a couple of friends and there are too many variables for me to spend their money on this; if it was sub-£100...

Does this look like a Record hub? Certainly the skewer seems to, but not 100% sure of the hub itself as the oil-port cover should be a different colour I thought. Or maybe it's missing, or it's something like an Athena?

I thought by the time they moved to 8 speed, they'd done away with oil holes, and covers.

May only be there for decoration, I dunno but Chorus and Record do have the little removable band.

Hey guys,
I am in trouble classifying and dating my F. Moser aero frame. Can somebody please help me out? Maybe one of you could give me a hint for a Moser catalog with this bike in?
This frame has an oval shaped lower tube and seat tube, also oval shaped stays. Seat tube has a 27.2mm diameter, so I assume it's Columbus SL Tubing. The banderole on the seat tube does say San Christobal, but there are so many different bikes to find over that name, I don't think thats the model name.
You can find pics in my photo album: http://fotos.rennrad-news.de/s/14532
I did eventually find a bike thats similar to mine, but can't find any further info on that either. So I'm still looking for some answers...
nobody?

I've got 8v with oil ports.
If it's an engraved band (mimicking an oil port) then I believe it's Athena.
Only Record and Chorus had genuine ports.

I thought by the time they moved to 8 speed, they'd done away with oil holes, and covers.
Grease ports on record hubs were still there even in 2006 when they stopped producing the silver hubs.
Think on earlier generations the grease ports were available on lesser versions as well, atleast chorus had them at some point.

i`d like to know what brand headset that is.
it is built in a Ellsworth track combined with a Kinesis Classic alloy fork. i guess that this is the original set up due to the fact that the fork is not drilled.
Frame has only one sticker sayin : "omnium cycle works" and a ref number, dont know if this could be important to date the frame.
any help is much appreciated

The hole in the back, rings bells...
Has a C-Record look about it, so could be an imitation from early-Nineties.

• #3522
the top nut has two threaded holes with lock nuts in it to secure the top nut onto the fork shaft.
those two little lock nuts compress an ring, wich is built into the top nut, onto the threads of the fork threads -

what's the name/brand of the front basket?
PDW Takeout
It's missing all its braze-on bosses. Have they been ground off to make sweet fixeh?
Apart from that, it looks like quite a nicely made frame.
The most striking features are the concave seatstay ends and the pierced lugs... Are the rear dropouts campagnolo?
