Woke up in a sweat at 4am, fully clothed, on my couch, slept on top of my phone, from which I'd managed to send several gibberish texts to people, and the phone had called a girl Adele I barely know in Dublin about ten times as she's the first name that comes up in my phonebook list... cringe...
Anyway yeah, last night was really good. Ufomammut live are pretty crushing / brain pummeling, I thought they were brilliant, not sure I could handle an entire weekend of it at something like the Desert Fest, although BRM says that they'd be at the more extreme end of the stoner bands on that lineup. Taking ecstasy at a doom / psych metal gig was a bit strange, but I enjoyed it, my legs were a bit jellified by the end of it from standing and swaying (rather than my usual m.o. of dancing around like a fool).
Zolle were pretty good too, although I preferred it when they dropped the tempo down a bit and did a bit more varied and complex things with the drums and guitar. The drummer had a really interesting style, changing the structure of the beat quite regularly but still keeping time.
I like the Underworld as a venue, its a good layout, but their beer is really, really bad.
Alright I better go pretend to do some work now. Nice to meet you in person CP, always good to put faces to names from the forum.
