a mystery... as you say 90's would not have been 4-digit serial#
They run a basic serial system. 4854 was built in 1964 for starters, so 2570 must have been way before that, which rules out that fork crown for a start.
Assuming the sellers not lying/misinformed there's another possibility.
My old Shorter was resprayed by Bob Jackson and they gave it a rennovation number which they also stamped on the BB.
If you're properly interested you could ask the seller to whip out the forks and check the serial # on the steerer. If it's much higher it could be (as the seller suggests) a 90's BJ... 2570 is its rennovation number and elsewhere on the BB is the original serial#. (either that or it just has a new set of forks)
