    +1

  • Inspiring

  • Yes, that was the idea. I wanted a modern road bike, but steel, and it's worked really well (though, as I said, I think some people would disagree: it's not your classic Mercian beauty). I'll dig some out when I'm back in the city.

EDIT: I have this one, before I built it up (ie none of these bits are necessarily the ones I built it up with or in the right position etc). With thanks to Mike at push....

^^ Thats exactly the same spec as one I have being built. Im starting to day dream about it now as it should be ready in November. I'd love to see photos of yours built.

Also - did Derbyshire Mercian Ride happen and will it be repeated? I live in Notts and regularly ride around Derby and so can help with a route if needed.

  • .

  • Dang that is nice!

  • why Tom? Why?!!!?

  • Basically I'm totally f***ed financially.
I can't regret it because it has to happen but I'm certainly not happy about it.

  • such a shame.it is so nice.you wont have any trouble selling it....

  • I hope not. I spent months looking for the right frame. It's just a project I'll have to dream about for a little while longer.

  • or sell some other things and hang this on the wall till you can afford to build it up?

  • I'm selling other bikes and parts too and I've held on to this for as long as possible but the time has come.
I'm sure I'll find another just as lovely when I'm in a better financial situation.
Maybe you could buy it Luke and I'll buy it back just like in the adverts ;)

  • maybe.... let me see my funds situation. would be a shame for you to loose it.....

  • Tomo that's a really nice frame, such a shame you won't be able to build it.

  • Cheers. It sucks balls that's for sure.

  • MY MERCIAN STOLEN FROM OUR FLAT IN HACKNEY CENTRAL E8

Sad news today, 6 bikes stolen from the communal area of our flat as well as some other junk that was lying around!!! Including my bespoke Mercian track!

It was Pearl White, with a few paint chips in the centre of the top tube. Drop handle bars. Modern Mercian decal. Miche chainset, Silver velocity wheels. Nothing special, but the frame was a peach. Made just for me.

Unique frame number of 44-2007 stamped on BB and on head tube.

If anyone sees it please, please, please let me know :-( x

    catch me at jonathan.entwistle[at]me.com
