A sexy machine with all panto parts.....This weekend I picked up something special in Ulestraten near Maastricht (i planned to go to a retroride in the neighbourhood so i picked this one up). I was planning to use this bike for a super record conversion as a donor bike for my Nuovo Record Presto.. On the pictures of the advert I noticed a Gazelle pantograph front chain ring and a first generation sr rear mech. I bid 100. These guys were completely overwhelmed by the reactions from markplaats bidders. They were so polite to tell me that concerning my bid they had some problems with our little agreement since some people were already bidding vast more amounts for this bike. So I told them I understood and offered them 200 and they were so kind to agree and discontinue their classified.
Size is 54. Frame number 32* indicates 1980. The rear derraileur is actually a patent 76 Super record. This bike was sold by a former amateur cyclist tour de France mechanic the 50-60s Jan Willemsen from Nuth. I do not know just what I'll do with it. Insanely beautiful bike. Haven’t seen many Gazelle bikes with that many pantographs. Maybe I'll keep this bike for the group and wait for a proper sized period corect AA or 753 frame. Or maybe I'll swap with a Gazelle Champion Mondial collector for a SR group + some extras.
