You're right, the programme was a bit heavy on the Carthy. Huge respect to him and all that but I'm not sure he's really a big Nic fan. (I find it hard to listen to Carthy because of his vocal style of pausing momentously on the last... word. Martin Simpson caught that habit bad.)
Nic Jones' style for me has that classic modal approach but with an almost John Martyn-ish groove, plus the way the words float back and forth... magical.
