I am defo interested in this. I need help on headsets/bottom brackets
on another note If she can also get the seized seatpost out of my custom frame without having to use caustic soda - I will personally contribute £100 to the cause. -

Awesomes Clefty. I'll ask her about the seatpost. Hate it when that happens. :-s

Ok well I've passed this on to her. Ladies Army is on the 27th April so this would all need to happen in the next couple of weeks.
She'll be in touch.
Thanks both! -

Right, apologies for the delay, Nik was away doing Bespoke so was super busy.
Clefty, she says she can get the seatpost out no worries. You free to drop off at Oak Cycles?
And are you and Tika still interested in a lesson? Perhaps you could combine?

Yep defo still interested, I will need to strip the frame a bit - can I leave the crankset on or do you need that off as well and the BB as well?
I dont have the tools to remove the phil BB but can maybe get the crankset off.Should be able to get it to Oak - he's near Newt isnt he??
Am happy to combine a lesson with Tika.

hey all,
seat post no worries, just let me know when you can get it to me, i can do it next friday.
as for lessons, am totally flexible on how long and what you wanna know. as for when, it depends what you need to know really.email me at nikhamilton@gmail.com if you wanna get this sorted, to organise dates, or with any fine tuning/questions.
as for price, im sorry, its a fundraiser so i can't really put a figure on it as some people might have more cash to donate than others. there is no minimum so dont worry if you can't spare a lot!
It will be great to have anyone who wants to learn a bit on board.
Cheers
Nikp.s. officially renaming it skillshare :)

dont know really till i see how bad it is but if you dont want to have it burnt out then id say you could get away with leaving stuff on it. if i need to i will sort that out. our workshop is 98 webber st. ryan is there most weekdays after 11 till the evening and i am there usually on fridays. (not this fri tho)
as for the lesson if you can email me details of what youd like to know i can work out how long we might need. happy to do it as a combined thing or individually (but we should be drinking beers throughout)
awesome! :)

And here it is again!
Nik is offering private mechanic lessons for anyone who wants to learn any level of bike mechanics.
There is no fixed price, just donate what you think it's worth.
Perhaps there's a few of you who would like to get together for a group lesson, or if you have a stuck seatpost like Clefty before, anything you would like help with or just wanted to learn. This isn't exclusive to women either btw.
She doesn't have a lot of time to check the forum so maybe register your interest on here and we'll put you in touch.
This is a fundraiser once again.

Nik is a stuck seat post miracle worker!

Thanks poots!
But no I did it. Hacksawed the fucker out.
Probably should have Nik-ed it but, hey, learning experience. -

I should actually mention for the benefit of this thread that Nik is indeed a miracle worker, she managed to get the supertype seat post that was cold welded into my custom frame out without any damage to the frame what so ever, this was after I'd actually sheared the stop of the seat post off whilst trying to remove it!
Nik is awesome, and if I had any time what-so ever at the moment I'd definitely be spending it getting some lessons from her.
I've stickied this thread to keep it up there.

Hello! Is Nik still offering bespoke mechanics lessons? I've set myself the task of building a bike this winter so could definitely benefit from some lessons!

If Nik isn't, get yourself to the London Bike Kitchen for one of their Build Your Own Bike courses!

Thanks pootsmanuva! actually I've been considering that. Know the lovely Jenny over there :)
Hi Ladies,
The ladies of London polo are doing lots of fundraisers to help send people to the Ladies Army tournament in America at the end of April.
It would be fantastic if we could represent the UK with lots of players so we can show them how awesome we are.
Nik is awesomely brilliant mechanic and LMNH and a very lovely person as well. She is offering her expertise in mechanic lessons which are pretty much bespoke, and all she is asking is a donation. So you can pretty much have a class tailored to what you want for how much you want! Doesn't get much better than that.
What would be good is if perhaps we made a day of it and did a group lesson perhaps.
Is there any interest from the ladies over here?
