For Sale: Tokyo Fixed S1 Build - Columbus Spirit

Posted on
  • For sale is my Tokyo Fixed S1 build, which since finishing has probably done about 20miles tops, and spent the rest of the time in my flat.
I'm selling it as I've already got a fixed commuter and want to put the proceeds towards a road bike instead.

I bought the frame and forks back in early 2012 from a member of staff of TF for £350. He'd also included a pair of Carbon forks but not the original tange threaded headset.

I've got the original S1 Keirin forks but opted to keep the thread-less carbon ones on it. The stem on the build is an OEM one from my S.E lager, and due to the shortness of the forks and bulkiness of it; only one bolt on the stem is gripping the fork's, it still feels safe with no play, but could certainly do with changing over for a more compact one, if these forks are kept on the bike.

This site has some photos of the original forks :

    Mine are immaculate!

All of the components are new with the exception of the stem and frame/forks.

I'm open to sensible offers as would like to get back as close to what I spent as poss, which is over £750.

    So offers around £700.

    Points :
The frame is pretty much immaculate, though the paint job flaked when the BB was fitted and the same for the headset. I know this is common but worth mentioning, I've touched it up with black nail polish.
Also the headset for some reason just slotted in and didn't need pressing, doesn't affect anything but maybe a better headset might suit the S1.

  • I think £700 is a bit optimistic

    Glws though

  • I'd split if I were you, and £700 is a bit steep. Best of luck.

  • Cracking Frame it has to be said... Ridden mine into the ground and it's a incredible ride. The price is however optimistic, I'm with Buckaroo though, you could get 400 for the frame and the rest of the parts would make up the rest but doubtful as a full build. Good luck with the sale!

  • Interested in the frame + s1 fork + Tange headset if you wanna split. What size is it btw?

  • Thanks for the suggestions re -price. I'm definitely open to splitting as need the space!
I'm lowering the complete build to £620

    I'd split as follows :

    51cm Frame + Carbon fork's + Orig S1 forks + free condor thread-less headset = £350 (what I paid for it)
Wheelset (with innertube + tyres +16t pressed cog) = £120
Black SRAM Omniums + GPX cups with original box = £160
    Pedals + cages + straps = £25
    Gold finger brake + cable = £10
    Front Shimano 105 = £30
    Nitto B105's = £25

Please ask for prices on other bits...

    Thanks.

sorry mate, the guy who sold me the frame + forks didn't include the original headset.
    The frame is 51cm.

  • Has this been sold?

  • what lenght are the omnoms?

  • Are TF bikes good? Or another foffa type?

Not taking the piss genuinely wanting to know...cheers

  • what lenght are the omnoms?

Hi, the omniums are the 165mm version's.
The bike is still available and I'm still willing to split, but will take £90 for the wheel set.

Can't really comment in much detail on how good TF is as a brand but they use to be based near my work and sold a lot of decent stuff before they became Kinoko cycles, now in Golden Square. There's a lot of positive reviews out there on this frame and the S2. I enjoyed it, despite the little use I got from it!

    They're good.

  • If splitting dibs on the wheel set.

  • Trying to re-ignite this thread, so bike is still available for splitting but prices have been dropped.
I'm also willing to ship stuff around or collection from SE5...

Any questions or for additional photos just ask.

    Nick
