  • Considering getting my v2 widened for larger tyres and at the same time obviously getting it re-tracked.

  • What size tyres do you want to use?

  • DUDE! make it a proper fck of 29er. 2.2 clearance like Dom's ESB

I wanna use 48c but if I'm going through the trouble of getting it widened I may as well get it to take 2.1 at least.

  • If you're going to bother, at least turn it in to a fat bike

    #takingthingstotheirlogicalconclusion

  • fat track would be FUCKING SICK

  • Believe me a fixed fat bike has crossed my mind in the past...

  • 2.2 is the truth. if your gunna do it. do it proper

  • 2.4

  • Just for the hell of it, I think I'd need to change my cranks though :(

  • the rear wheel on my all city is so fucked atm i had to take my 2.4 off. Makes me sad

  • Same on my Brooklyn, running a 28c now!

  • it was rubbing on both sides with a 2.4. I should stop casing really shit 180s

  • I've never even attempted to 180 anything bigger than 26"
I wanna get back on an fgfs bike now...

    Orly?

I'm still not 100% sure that you bent the frame in that crash. You'd need a bus to bend that thing!

It may have never been totally straight from the beginning??

  • Yup! Need to replace my fast biek first though.

I'm sure it was bent in the crash because before then I could center a wheel in the chain stays and seat stay simultaneously whereas now if it's centered at one of those points it's close to rubbing at the other.

  • In that case, I'll go back to recommending a dirt jump bike :-)

    Or a tank

  • Would a dirt jump bike really be tougher?

  • I have no idea really. You never had any problems riding the gangsta off road, so other than fitting a brake, I'd stick with using it.

Bigger tyres/extra clearance sounds like a good move though.

  • I'll likely pick up a disc fork wether or not I get the frame modded simply to save my knees, will hopefully be riding off road more during the winter and fuck skidding every few seconds.

  • fuck skidding every few seconds.

    You're getting old mate.

  • Considering getting my v2 widened for larger tyres and at the same time obviously getting it re-tracked.

What the fuck? it's have enough clearance to demolished the London road and you want it *wider?
    *

You know bigger tyres make you go slower right?

  • It has clearance for around 38c with the wheel very far back in the dropouts.

although 38c was for the most part ok I want to use larger tyres for off road riding this winter.

And that last bit is not strictly true.

  • Get some CX tyres on then, 38c is plenty.

Or ride a mountain bike frankly.

  • I have some cross tyres, I'm not really looking for an MTB though Ed.
