Yeah, it's a similar scam to one that got me a couple of years back. He was using photos from Velobase to falsely advertise.
Paid in a hurry as didn't want to miss out, was already a bit suspicious but was hoping for the best. A bit of google hunting and I found the photos on Velobase, with a date from 2010.
PM'd him asking if he could inform me why they were same photos, thought there was a 10% chance he had bought it on ebay (where the photos were credited to) and been lazy by not taking new photos, clearly 10% was too generous a level of faith in humanity.
What a royal cunt. It's strange because in his PMs he clearly knows about bikes, and seemed very genuine.
Buyer beware, when in doubt, pay via paypal goods, as soon as you suspect something is up, raise a dispute ASAP as paypal will then freeze the funds, and he can't close his paypal account once a dispute is raised.
I can only assume he does this through random paypal accounts which he closes after getting a few payments in, before people realise they've been conned, by which time he's long gone.
