  • Need to stop messing around with all these shorter rides I'm doing and get my sept 200km in!

  • Gosh, haven't ridden any long rides, audax or otherwise since early August. Feel like my fitness is going down. Only commuting twice a week a the moment too. Only a month or so till this season is over.

  • Response is "Risk a fiver in the post- and give him a quid on the line"
    May do so...
Will update when decided- not feeling the fittest I've ever done on a bike at the moment... not really sure why.

  • Can't do it, work on weekend as usual.

  • Just entered for the AAAnfractuous. First audax; looking forward to it ...

  • Not going to ride the Trent one...
Just have so much work to do.

  • The AAAnfractuous has become a new favourite 200km for me, so many stunning views on the way round.

I would hesitate to do it regularly due to it being the other side of london and having a decent amount of climbing, but it is a beautiful route.

  • One poor member of AC Hackney had a wasp fly into his mouth and sting the back of his throat >.<

Ouch. Did he at least have a stunning view?

  • Wasps thread. >>>>>>>>>>

  • found this by accident. Too small for me but someones who look at this thread might be interested.

  • I liked the old Casseroll, they were fairly decent bike that fit a lots better than the low and long Surly Crosscheck.

    Pity Salsa ditched them now.

  • Yesterday I received my validated brevet card from the pendle 600 in the post, but andy corless had also included two photos he took of me cycling up what I think is wrynose pass!

Was a lovely surprise, really nice touch from the org :)

I just got a couple myself as well - I remember him being up Hardknott Pass for the couple he took of myself - so I wonder whether yours were taken up Hardknott too? bearing in mind I was nearly in tears whilst ascending Wynrose I might well have missed him...

I'm looking forward to the Swan with Two Necks next year!

  • Was that west to east?

  • ^^Bah, i think you're right with that being hardknott

  • brave man for honking it out of the saddle, I can never do that on those passes.

  • Even in 28->28 gearing I felt I had to get out the saddle, absolute snails pace up both of them!

P.s. Ed i still have your revelate bag! I can drop it off to you whenever you want it back, appreciate you lending it to me :)
haven't sorted myself out with one yet, waiting for student loan to come in but definitely worth it

  • I'll give it a try with 30-25 this winter, managed 30-28 reasonably well on the old bike, can't wait to take out the Oaks on it.

  • Oh yeah I kept forgetting you got it, glad it work out well on the LEL, least the newer version is a big improvement on the one you've used.

  • Did the Seasons Of Mists last Sunday and despite my still healing busted elbow (fucking drivers!) I enjoyed the audaxing thing. It gives you a reason to keep going.

Out of curiosity has anyone done it fixed, Seasons of Mists I mean?

  • There's a few Yorkshire Cog Botherers in audax circles so I would imagine so. I think I also heard Peter Hammond, a Peak Audax organiser talk about doing this ride and he mostly does fixed.

  • entry for spordax is away today.

Will be a first sortee in 3-4 months.

I'm so unfit. I even let some nob overtake me on the embankment yesterday and had to pretend like I didnt care.

Ha - I was crawling at the end of the AAAnfractuous following about two months off, my plan to ride into shape during the ride didn't quite work...

  • Seriously considering this one next week.
