I have very little desire to spend the coming winter riding around wet and windy (possibly snowy) Manchester on my Vigorelli, so I have decided I need a more practical shit weather bike.
The Pompino is an obvious choice, cheap as chips and pretty versatile.
I will be running it fixed primarily but will have a freewheel on the other side of the hub so I can flip the wheel when I go for rides with the girlfriend.
I'm planning on fitting the biggest tyres I can on there so I can roll around in comfort and bounce my way through the numerous potholes where I live.
Here is the plan so far....
I'm open to suggestions on pretty much anything, especially tyres, brakes, and freewheel. I am trying to keep the costs as low as possible without buying completely shit components.
The TCB rack is there for transporting shit around, at the moment I do it all by courier bag which really isnt comfortable. I know a rear rack would be more sensible but I really like TCB racks and who cares about sensible anyway?
Should hopefully be getting this started in the next couple of weeks, I'm just waiting on some money to come through (anyone want to buy a Brompton?)
