Hi,
I've got Shimano 105 5700 172.5mm in black, which you can have for whatever they cost me. They've only done about 10 miles tops, but are 53/39.
Alternatively, I've also got 105 5600 172.5mm cranks on my road bike that you can have for way less. They're 50/34, but have done a good 2000 miles or so, but are silver.
Pm if interested.

Thanks nodachi - sounds like 2 near misses there. Really need to be black and there's a lot of 105 going on the bike so the first ones you mention do sound good. Will they take 34/50 rings, or is the bcd too big?

If memory serves the BCD for doubles and compacts are different (130 and 110), but someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
That said, I've got a compact on one bike and a double plus a 12-27 cassette on the other - both are fine on the various hills I've encountered in London (admittedly).
Looking for a black 10 speed compact chainset, crank length 170 or 172.5mm with 34/50 chainrings. It's going on a newish bike, so needs to be in very good condition, ideally one taken off a new bike for an upgrade.
Don't mind square taper or ext bearing type, but it needs to suit a frame with a conventional threaded British 68mm BB shell.
