Pre-2009 595 should be the same as my 585 and 464, 45mm diameter and 2mm deep. 2009 and later have the Headfit adjuster, not sure whether you can just bin that and use a normal bung type adjuster and plain cover.

Just to be sure, my headtube is 46mm and there's just shy of 2mm of compression ring proud above the headtube. I shouldn't have a gap between cover and headtube with this, right?
Sorry for not being very bright.

If you have just less than 2mm between top of compression ring and top of head tube, the size you specified will leave slightly less than no gap, so you'll probably need to add a shim. I think the standard Cane Creek shins are 0.2mm, so you should be able to shim the gap to a maximum of that.

Nice to have it confirmed.
Whilst you're doing this, I don't suppose you're going to be having any of those topcaps with integrated spacer made?

I was thinking about it, wondering whether to do a batch engraved lfgss.cc as a fund raiser for the club. After I'm done with this batch of headset covers I'll take soundings to see what level of demand there might be.

Probably need to wait for my prospective nephews/nieces to be named before going to the engraving shop, my little brother's first nipper already has custom engraved top cap for her Rothan, but there are more on the way

I'd take 1 or 2 just for mates, or the parts bin.
The one on my BMC is great. Just one of those clever little components which does its job in a very tidy and effective manner.

I'd prefer HTFU engraved on mine. Seems the perfect place to have such an important reminder.
Even better would be...
'stop feeling sorry for yourself you weak pathetic halfling, and fucking pedal'
Probably a bit long though.

To abuse your helpfulness even further...
Going to be using it on a Caad10 so am hoping to replicate the cover that was sold by Slamthat stem. They describe the details of theirs as follows..
*Compatibility:
Head tube or existing dust cover outer diameter – 1.85 inches
Distance from top of head tube to compression ring top – .075 inches (smaller would need a shim available at the LBS, larger will have a gap)*Do my specifications sounds right to you?
Cheers

Noted, I'll keep an eye out for a future thread (And try and get you to sneak 2 plain black ones out of the batch for the road bikes).
