To be fair, we did miss the first of Leicester's two goals as we were going in. Fortunately we saw both the Leicester goals at the game at the (as was) Walkers that season.

I'd add a comma after fortunately.

It was an experience at the Walkers that season. I hadn't been to Leicester for about 20 years. The person, term loosely applied, on my right hand side appeared to be wearing clothes from that era. It became apparent they thought Nigel might not know his father was dead. Kindly, they decided to inform Nigel throughout the match.
