Is it possible to pedal in that position without completely squashing your bits?
That is something you will feel right away. The bigger problem is that you can get a tear in your Achilles. That happened to me and my saddle was only an inch to high. I was out of the saddle for a few weeks because of that.

Nice bike though, deserves and better chainring
Thanks, the chaining is a VeloSolo and is actually very good. might get something a bit nicer looking when it wears out.

^ Love that bike Looks good with rack too - had been keeping quiet about the chainring as I thought it was one of those BLB Super Pista ones.....!!

An inch is quite a lot when you're talking about seat heights..

True, but try to imagine doing a 100k with a saddle that high and a drop that low.

Hey,
I'm owner of that "dat drop" setup. Registered here because saw lots of reblogs in my tumblr.
Had 58cm frame 3 years ago and broke it. Had to choose from 56 and 58 frame available at the workshop i was in. I've recieved nitto jag for that time and looked for few hours for different setups. 56 was better because i like compact frames. 58x56 would fit me better, but it was not somewhere around for that moment. I'm riding it for 3 years already, had alu-frameset (56cm too) for a year but changed for soviet steel back. Done more than 500km in two days. I ride on the tops or on "hoods" most of the time. Using drops only for sprints, uphills or fast downhills where aerodynamics are needed.
That photo from the trainstarion is made for fun, i'm not riding like that in drops.
Cheers.

Also, used it for messengering about 1 year, no problems to ride 100km every day.

Hello QQQ. As it goes, your bike is nice and very much at home in this thread. How you choose to set it up is, I'm lead to believe, upto you. Thanks for coming!

A&P are there more photos of that badge available? It looks interesting.
Could be wrong but it looks like the frame is clear coated over the rust. I like the effect.

I found one for you.

Oh wow that's beautiful.
I found the badge in color now, but I think the grey version above is looking better.
