Interesting... Is it pretty heavy?
-
• #13
The frame is 531, so reasonably light. The groupset is pretty old so not as light as modern alternatives.

Remarkably, this is still available.
Was having a bit of a sort out the other day, and realised that I also have a spare original fork for this, colour matched to the frame, with braze-ons for cantilever callipers.
Go crazy.

I have been told by Mrs Jingle Jangle that we are moving house.
I have also been told by Mrs Jingle Jangle that she's not having hundreds of fucking bikes all over the new fucking house. So this Jack Taylor has to go.
It comes, incidentally with a spare - original fork, ie it was originally built with x2 forks.

I'll join the "if I was taller" club. They're beautiful frames.
If all else fails they fetch good money on eBay.
I have always hankered after a Jack Taylor, and a while ago when one came up in my size, I snapped it up.
Consequently, it's been sitting in the shed waiting for attention, and in reality, I don't think it's going to get any from me.
It's a Jack Taylor fillet brazed tourer, with an eclectic mix of parts most of which need to be replaced. I bought the bike from the original owner, and elderly gentleman from the North-East. Whilst I have never properly unpacked or assembled the bike since it came into my possession, the previous owner assured me it was roadworthy, and I have no reason to doubt him.
Also included in the sale (not photographed) is an original made to measure Jack Taylor rack.
Whist it could be ridden and assembled as is, this bike is crying out to be restored - at which point it would no doubt be a real head-turner.
The weird stuff in the photo's is packaging material I haven't fully removed.
