I have been asked to sell this for a friend, I did want to keep it for myself but can't justify having yet another project added to the pile. I can't find out anything about Phil Galloway other than he still appears to be part of a cycling club and this bike was sold at his shop "Galloway cycles". This bike is very light, I'm certain the tubing will be something exotic, but unfortunately if any stickers were present they are long gone now, but believe me, this is no gas pipe frame. Rear drop outs are Gipiemme and fork drop outs are campagnolo. Spec is
57cm Phil Galloway frame and forks
Tange headset (chrome is like brand new)
Shimano 105 mechs
Campag gran sport pedals
Campag gran sport brakes (excellent condition but new hoods required)
Gipiemme cranks (sugino chain ring bolts and gipiemme rings)
Simplex shifters
Cinelli criterium bars
I think Cinelli stem
Shimano (i think 105) hubs on mavic rims. Hubs perfect, rear rim knackered
Now the bad bits,
Seat and post missing
Front tire knackered (plenty of tread but age has ruined the rubber, rear looks ok but would change)
Rear wheel rim is knackered
Needs a quick service as a precautionary due to not being ridden for years.
Overall it's in really good condition, obviously it does have some battle scars but more than anything just needs a strip down and proper clean and polish. All things considered I think £200 is a bargain as it's easily worth £250-300 if stripped for parts (which IMO would be a real shame) Possibly even a whole lot more if you could ID what the frame tubing is, could be columbus?
If you were to bring a new tire for the front and a seat post, you could (carefully) ride this home as i'm sure the gears all work fine and the front braking surface is fine.
Collection from Stratford E15. I've done quite a few deals on here, so plenty of people to vouch for my reliability as a seller ect.
