Mallorca roads seem to be really enjoyable. Pouce en l'air.
I wish i were on holiday. (well, today is throne day so I could not work because I had to celebrate King Mohammed VI)@Gaston: nice bikes, nice pics
nice menu ;--{ )
Yes it is. As I said on pf dot con, I felt enthusiastic about the handling of small wheels (650c on the cédéptitesroues) and I decided to go further. Here is my petit vélo:

You cannot fold a Moulton bike, you can merely break it down. This was out of my scope.
For many reasons, I wanted a Bike Friday. They are top moumoute but these toys are hard to find and they really don't come cheap.
Dahon has quite high quality standards, most of the parts are standard and you can find a good bargain in the local classifieds.
All this sounds good to me. Passion was obviously not my main driver but I think this petit vélo looks cool! (icing on the cake).I'll tell you about the ride quality later as I haven't got the opportunity to ramble through town yet. The purchase was some kind of offshore operation and I'm still abroad.

how does it compare to a Brompton?
-
• #182
The Brompton has probably the best design because it folds in thirds instead of in half like the others. You can also partially fold it and walk.
Brompton is made of steel whereas the Dahon Curve has an alloy frame. Both have 16 inch wheels (BUT the standards are not the same! IIRC, 349 for Brompton instead of 305 for the Curve). Both feature an internal gear hub, Sturmey Archer for the Brompton (112mm rear spacing...) and Shimano for the Curve (Nexus 8 on mine).
Also, there are quite a lot of Brompton-specific parts. For example, the brakes are specific dual-pivot calipers VS regular V-brakes on the Dahon.
swag factor
£££ matters
etc.
Actually both Dahon and Brompton owners seem happy, I bet they are both right.

So far so good. It's a tiny one.
Yet, I am considering making a framebag for day-long rides, a la Revelate Design.

Hey,
I'm French and I'm living in London for 6 months now.
I'm riding alone in the streets and miss the rides I had with my pals back in Paris.
Do you guys make any rides in London that I could join? I'd like to find nice people to regularly ride with. Let me know if interested. All the best,
Jason -

to Gaston : why did you say "full Mavic equipped" and not "avec plein du Mavique dessus" ? (and what does it mean : 170 boules ???)
to Jason : i understand you miss driving on the right lane

Check either the title of the thread or the last post for the correct place / pub, they tend to change sometime. In doubt post that you want to join and get the venue confirmed.
Best way to meet people on here in real life, along with the rides obviously!

Nice Bontrager Calipers.
Salam Khouya.
It's almost there. I went a step further from my initial idea but I think I have found something that meets quite well my future commuting needs.
8sp internal gear hub, Schwalbe Marathon Racer tyres, Avid brakes, MKS pedals, SKS fenders and Ergon grips (!) are on the menu.
