Southampton people

I'm moving down to Southampton in a couple of weeks and don't know anyone! Is there many fixed riders apart from those that go to Calshot?

If anyone fancies meeting up for a ride or a beer it would be cool to meet some people that are keen to ride. Wouldn't mind having a go at Calshot some time, anyone one planning on attending beginner sessions this side of christmas?

I'm at uni in southampton, fairly new to fixed gear but I have seen others riding around. Signed up to beginner sessions at calshot in october. I think you will be lucky to get a slot on a session at calshot before christmas because of the olympics but definately worth a go

I have seen one guy on a Mongoose Maurice which looked far too big for him, I've not seen many which I'm surprised about.

Are you at Solent of University of Southampton?

I'm at the university of southampton so I see most of them riding around highfield campus, havent seen many in town

There was a fixed gear bike locked up outside the Eclipse in Winchester on the weekend- there are clearly people in the area.

I found a Southampton Fixed gear group on facebook requested to join but no dice haha. There are definitely people about, they are clearly recluses!

Yeah, although winter is coming so the number of people actually interested in riding drops pretty sharp..

I'm organising a Halloween ride from Bournemouth to Southampton through the new forest after dark. If any riders from Southampton want to get involved that'd be sweet! It'll be the evening of the 30th, probably leaving Bournemouth at about 8 but I still need to plan most of the details. PM me if you want some more info or like the Facebook page with the dumbest name known to man to stay up to date!

I would but I'm back in sussex until next week and will be riding up to london to watch the ToB, well up for a some new forest missions from next weekend onwards though!

I would very much like to do this, but I have to be in a clean room for 8am the next day. On the off chance I don't have to go in I'll be there.
