  • Come on Nibbles

  • 21%

  • Nibs pops

  • Fuck me. If I wasn't already sitting down I'd definitely need to sit down. That was mental.

  • I'm finding it so hard to follow this GT.

Here's the climb to the finish. Today's stage, stage 21.

  • That speech.

  • ^^ ...errr I mean stage 20.

  • 3 things.

Cracking last few days. I really enjoyed that.

If Chris Horner was doping I'm personally gonna fly stateside and give him a slap.

I'm 56 this year, have a Movistar jersey, a Pinarello and I'm available most of next summer.

  • That speech.

that speech was something special. it was an amazing achievement. we may never see a speech like that again, in sport, in cycling.

  • That speech.

    "may never be seen again"

    #EPO

  • What speech?

  • What speech?

    Piece to camera...

  • As the old man went past Nibbles on the Angliru - I stood up, switched the TV off and left the room...

  • You're 100% certain then BPB?

  • By the way - if he's on stuff I'm going to suggest Coke. #thatspeech

  • that fucking speech..

  • If he's cheating he's going about it in a very odd way;

    http://www.srm.de/news/road-cycling/vuelta-a-espana-stage-18/

I don't think 424 watts for 20 minutes is that incredible. It's GT winning form for sure, but both Froome and Wiggins put out similar values.

  • I suppose it's the fact that he's in his 40's and putting out those numbers after a fairly brutal 3 weeks of hilly stages that's raising eyebrows.

Personally, if Wiggo is 10 years his junior and thinking of retiring from road racing because he's not up to winning GT's, I can't help but also raise an eyebrow at how well he's been riding, but as people say, the context of the race in terms of tired GC contenders, motivation is also relevant.

If he is cheating he's got some fucking cojones, if not, fucking chapeau for showing the youngsters how it's done. At this rate Merckx might be coming out of retirement to have another crack of the whip.

  • Horner also c. 10kg lighter than Froome or Wiggins.

  • ... the music that accompanies the Vuelta profile ident. Psychotic bagpipes? Crackpipes? In Spain? Hmmmn?

  • the Galician region of spain has its own type of bagpipes called the gaita-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galician_gaita

  • You're 100% certain then BPB?

Of course I'm not 100% certain. I'm just 100% sceptical.

  • Call it paranoia backed up by history.

  • Well, that was fun!
Is this really the same race that Tony Martin put in that awesome 7th place finish? Seems like a lifetime ago!!!
