To clarify further, the bottom bracket you linked to in the OP is for an originally english threaded shell which will have a diameter around 34.8mm - probably a bit more than this now if the threads are knackered/it's ovalised etc.
Your italian bb shell will be 36mm in diameter - again, probably a bit more than this now if the threads are knackered/it's ovalised etc.
Some threadless bottom brackets may be tapered but I wouldn't say the one you linked to is and none of the ones I have dealt with have been either.
I don't know if a 36mm diameter threadless bottom bracket exists but if it does that's what you need.
A quick google search says that the VO threadless bb is of a different design to most and will fit most…Read further and even this one won't fit Italian because of the diameter.
