yep - aero hair.
Back in the good old days hardly anyone wore helmets - the bouffant hairstyles were enough protection.
Hairnets were invented to make sure that the hair didn't go into the rider's eyes which could have led to some nasty crashes (especially when doing a head down Time trial).
