  • My GF now does Strava. Thinking of buying her some orange Strava-branded kit so her bike-specific clothes aren't all 100% black.

  • I ride off road in Rapha kit.

Well I wear lycra off-road. I'm also a handbag XC douchebag.

Watch out, it's a slippery slope. I just bought a cadence sensor and am upgrading my Strava account to premium...

Sounds like you need a powermeter..........

  • ^ I was actually discussing getting one last night...

  • I took my bike to Scotland on a week's holiday and I've ridden it precisely once.

    Fuck Livingston :(

  • That's what the cab drivers said.

  • That's what Stanley said.

Try a powercal. Not much more than a HRM belt, and give you rough power figures to play withs. You can then get into all the finer nerdism of power training. Before splashing out on a proper powermeter.

  • I've now gone and looked at all the local KOM targets sections :-(

  • That's depressing up here.

  • Some of the speeds look a bit dubious.

Strava is just waiting to judge me now.

  • the eternal debate: clip on mudguards or waterproofed bib tights? roughly the same price :(

  • Mudguards. And that's not even a confession!

    any questions answered thread>>>>>>>>>>>

    Sssssh you!

  • I fell off my Brompton this morning, right outside work, while travelling at walking pace.

Last year I managed to fall off my Plug as I was walking out of the gates of school, just rolling out the path and all of a sudden I was flat out and smashed my head off the ground.

  • I just bought a Garmin.

And opened a Strava account :-/

    wtf?!
It was bound to happen eventually. My condolences.

It's a slippery slope though - next you'll be weighing your bike parts and swapping them for crabon...

  • Last winter I ended up with the right side of my face all swollen and a dislocated shoulder when my rear wheel slipped out from underneath me.** I was rolling along slower than walking pace.**

There's your problem. Riding slowly is worse than leaning. You don't lean in the wet, do you?

  • I don't really have a clue who Miley Cyrus is

  • I ruined three inner tubes trying to repair my first puncture by doing up the valve nut too tight.

  • I don't understand icloud

  • I've just spent 60 quid on titanium bolts, washers and nyloc nuts.

  • I'm moving house end of Sept.
I've started stashing my precious collection of bikes at the hopefully secure bike park at work....
Using the "one-way-ride" days (where the weather in the morning is fine to ride in, but potentially pissing down at night).

  • Our son has started doing that at school... Except we're not moving.

  • ha! is he just working through the family's collection of bikes then?

  • i just bought bib tights for the first time ever
