2013-09-12 - Rider Down, New Cross Road

My mate was on route from Lewisham to work. Just past the lights at NX gate Sainbury, where the road starts to split off into lanes for Peckham / Old Kent Road. Another cyclist comes zooming up his arse, takes out his back wheel and sends him flying at a considerable speed, clipped in, face first in the middle of the road, and doesn't have the courtesy to even stop (cunt). His Merckx is battered and he's top to toe in cuts. If anyone saw anything don't hesitate to get in touch, thanks.

As dick a move as this was, we shouldn't be encouraging cyclist on cyclist aggression, nor cyclist on motor vehicle aggression either for that matter.

I've been knocked off twice in that little section of NCR, once by bus, once by car. Just need cyclist and pedo and I've got the full set.

I'm not encouraging aggression by any means; I just know that if I caused someone to come off at high speed onto concrete I'd stop and make sure I hadn't killed them. Luckily some helpful pedestrians ran into the road and stopped the lorry that was driving behind him. There's no long term damage thankfully but some gnarly scrapes due to getting caught in the cleats! I wasn't actually there for the incident, but he's not on here so thought I'd post on his behalf.

No description of the rider unfortunately as once his back wheel was taken out he was face down straight away. Cycle safe everyone!
