  • I am wishing I had researched velodromeshop before yesterday.

Yesterday I purchased a set of Kreitler Kompact Alloy 3.0 rollers from them. Their website offers a competitive price and clearly implies that they have them in stock (other items are listed as 'out of stock' but these weren't and still aren't labeled as such).

This morning I received an email off them informing me that they are out of stock and that they can not guarantee they will have any in stock before January of next year. It is now early September and I require the rollers to train indoors throughout the wet UK weather; waiting at least four months for the item to arrive defeats the object of me purchasing from them in the first place. I am already wishing I had purchased them elsewhere.

To give them credit, they have offered to ship me a similar set of rollers (Challenger model), which they claim to have in stock ready to ship immediately, and refund me the price difference of £50. This would raise an additional problem though in that my headwind fan accessory will cause premature end cap wear to the Challenger model's polycarbonate end caps which is not covered under the lifetime warranty. They have appologised for any inconvenience.

I had my heart set on training using the Kompact set of rollers that I initially chose and paid for, but as I require them ASAP I am coerced to request they ship me the alternative Challenger set today and refund me the difference. I shall also have to hope that the polycarbonate end caps do not wear out too soon.
