  • They can't do this, technically you could claim the item was not as described and get a full refund with no need to send the frame back, and they should cover expenses for returns as its then at fault

    That's what I thought, but I googled it and it seems that the seller can offer to pay for the postage but don't have to.

    I'm going to try my luck with eBay on Friday and hope that they side with me. I'm worried it's going to be a case of "them's the rules" and they'll not see the situation for what it is: she's not going to be able to sell it for much as it is, and she's not got the knowledge or inclination to list it properly. She just bought it off someone (probably for not much as her reserve was £50) and tried her luck. I don't think she's going to go through relisting it properly and just bin it.

    I don't really want to think of a 20 year old SLX Rossin frame getting binned because someone thinks it's dead.
