What is a "proper club-type club"? Anything the established clubs do can be done under lfgss.cc auspices as long as people want to do it and organise it. Might need a PA for speeches at the club dinner :-)
A regular club ride. Some kind of minimum standard behaviour expected, ie. I can enjoy a club ride without being in a wobbly peloton of death, a feeling of inclusiveness, organised events occasionally, blah blah blah
Basically I just want a regular long sunday ride out with a few peeps....
Mostly this.

Well, we might make a 'race' jersey, and then a 'ride' jersey.
The ride jersey can be whatever the hell we want (classic, black, nice).
The race jersey will have to be distinctive (and they do have a lot of black kits nowadays).I guess nothing in the above precludes pink with unicorns, in fact distinctiveness almost calls for it.
Who knows.
Maybe we will have a baby pink jersey with a prancing My Little Pony unicorn after all.
Seriously... no
We should reverse the paradigm, "ride" top is subtle black with Lfgss writing, only the hardened racers are allowed to wear the pink MLP racing colours.

...black jersey.
Do you even summer?
-
• #982
^This. Black sucks in the sun. And its been done to death.
-

Np. The dark times are upon us already. In 2 days time sun will be setting at 3pm again.

Wearing black won't be much of a problem in London then... Besides black is the new ehhh... black. Black jersey FTW!

WIll be a problem if you ride before 10am and after 3pm... or if it's raining... or hazy - so pretty much most of the time in London. I love black but nothing beats white for being seen. Having said that I'll grab both if the option is there.
-

I agree but white in london during rain is a recipe for disaster. Liking the sound of the baby pink.

Just put your fluoro yellow jacket on over your jersey if it's dark. Problem solved.

Beige?

It's a racing jersey, not a commuting jersey. Why would you want a fluoro jersey to go around the velodrome?
-
• #990
Fair points. To be honest I will grab the jersey regardless of colour as it's more about identification right? I just found white helpful day to day.
-
• #991
Identification... and unicorns apparently :

Skinsuit for the velodrome (and TTs and even road races these days - separates are just for training and touring now) -

Gotta love 'em

Troll value.

MHO
Distinctive colours and a few stripes. Simple logo.
All this talk of pink, black, and unicorns is great. But you need to aviod copying Fatcycist, or the Rapha cross.

All we need to avoid are the strips of other cycle clubs registered with British Cycling.
That's most likely to be Rollapaluza in our region, and of course Team Sky. Basically, clubs that have strips that are predominantly black.

How about black and pink?

Cool.
FTR I dont care. I'd buy one anyway. Definitely wear for the events I foolishly enter fixed. Maybe the Styrkeprøven team could all wear one. Feck knows we'll need help identifying each other after 20 hours. -

Simple race jersey easily recognised and distinguished from other black shirt regiments

Lots of us here - as many ideas; and/or preferences. Back to this being a dictatorship it will be whatever V says right? The discussion is interesting to see form vs function vs cosmetics vs humour...
