Which BSA BB for campa 9-speed

Posted on
  • I hope this is the correct subforum for my question.

I have a campa veloce 9-speed 1998/1999 groupset on an old frame with ITA BB.

I'd like to build up a new frame with the group set on. The new frame is BSA 68mm. And I'm not sure which new BB to look for.

    I've looked at this

    https://www.bike24.net/1.php?lang=2;content=8;navigation=1;menu=1000,4,23;product=3950

My old frame has ITA threaded BB. The ITA says something like 36x24f. Google says it means:

It's Italian BB threading: 36mm thread diameter and 24 tpi thread pitch

Not sure, if it has any relevance.

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated

  • You'll need a British (68mm) bottom bracket with ISO taper. As regards length, 111mm generally fits ok for a road double.

  • Thank you for your answer.

So as far as I understand, I should rather look at something like this?

  • yes that should work, you'll also need the spline fitting tool

personally prefer the veloce, which is cheaper (and requires the 6 point fitting tool)

  • Thank you very much rive gauche :-)
