Shipping wheels out of the UK

Greetings to the group!

Is anyone aware of a reasonably priced service for shipping a pair of 700mm wheels from UK to Cyprus.

The seller has quoted £82 excluding insurance (£100 including insurance) which is ridiculous!!

Any input appreciated!!

Hi mate, your post works more as a bump so no worries!

I had no responses though! I am not sure how active this part of the forum is??

I am not even sure if there are any alternatives to the ridiculously expensive post office !!

The online stores (wiggle, CRC, etc) seem to be enjoying much better rates via the corporate couriers.

Does anyone have a clue how to reach these couriers??

For that kind of price he might even be able to find a plane ticket to cyprus to deliver in person.

If I were selling the wheels that is probably what I would do, maybe halve the cost.

A couple of weeks ago I got a pair of 700C aluminium clincher rims from UK to NL.
I thought that the GBP 33.- I paid was quite a lot (Parcel Force).
A lot more than the NOS rims costed (GBP 21.-).
I think that posting a pair of wheels is not a lot more expensive than a pair of rims.

Well it seems that when you factor the extra weight of the wheels + distance (to Cyprus as opposed to NL) the price shoots up!
