maybe you were just looking at the wrong people,the stuff i saw looked riden for a purpose rather than prentiously
most had flat bars and gears
here's an example of what i liked, was just locked up in the dark, full panto, stem, post , shifter, crankset
saw a beat up master isotar with deltas used as a commuter by a seemingly non fashion conscious rider ,
i got drunk in acapulco bar, nice people
